Spring Break

So I haven't posted in a week - sorry. I promise to get something up here tonight.

This week is Spring Break @ SFU and for me that means "hell week." Without the students there all week, I've committed myself to complete all of my projects for my graduate work. What does that mean? Well, complete my clinical residency project (like a thesis- I have the literature review and final project left to complete) and 2 projects in my health care systems management class (get ready for this...we have to create an HMO from scratch and then a presentation to market it). So my grand plan is to be at work everyday till ???? so that by the end of the week, I can maybe enjoy 1 day of Spring Break!! If the weather is nice, we might travel to Pittsburgh on Friday or Saturday - we're thinking Zoo or Carnegie Science Center.

So when I need a little laugh to keep me going, I've found a really cool web site to visit: www.mcphee.com
I laugh every time I look around on the site.

On other notes:

*I'm anxiously awaiting baby news from my friend Amy (Hetrick - link to her blog from mine) - she's due any day now - she's on my mind!!! Good luck, Aim!!!

*Dana and Nate are on a tropical island sipping drinks and relaxing during spring break - can't wait to see some photos. Have to admit, I'd rather be there, but our vacation isn't too far away.

* It's March!! Getting closer to spring -and boy are we ready for it!

Happy Birthday Linda

We celebrated Linda's birthday last evening with a PJ party. We made breakfast foods, played the Wii and had a blast. We all wore our PJs and at one point, the little ones (Jude and Maddie) decided they needed a bath. Meanwhile, Jackson and Zach had to conquer every Wii game they possibly could. Linda turned......well if you can't see it on the balloon in the photo, maybe I shouldn't post it... (she knows where to find me).

We Love Fridays

Jackson's school had a mini-bazaar yesterday @ school - it was a fundraiser for religious education materials. Anyway, the kids went to the gym at 11am and were set free till 2pm to play games, eat, go to the attic (yard sale), etc - think large scale Chuckee E. Cheese's. Jeremy volunteered in the kitchen and I got there around 1pm. Let me tell you that I was totally overwhelmed in just 1 hour, so imagine the kids and teachers. It was really fun, though.
We also got to have a special dinner with our friends Amy and Nick who made a surprise visit to PA from South Carolina. We'll be visiting them in June when we go to Hilton Head!

Magic Treehouse - the Musical

Jackson and I ventured to State College yesterday to see The Magic Treehouse The Musical. The Magic Treehouse is a book series about a boy (Jack) and his sister (Annie) who travel to historical times in their magic treehouse. The series is 43 books and we're on #21, so this musical was a timely event and we were totally psyched to go to it.

This is a picture of the stage from our seats - we weren't allowed to take photos of the show, so is the best we could do!

We were only 5 rows from the stage (and the 1st three rows were empty) so it felt like we were in the play. At the end of each scene, the lights would go down and Jackson would turn to me and say, "It's not over is it?" He sat for 2 hours, totally enthralled with the musical. It was a really good show. I'm so glad he got to add a dimension into this adventure.

Jackson "with" Jack and Annie and his red backpack (just like the one Jack carries on all the adventures!)

We read the book almost every night - they are each 10 chapters and Jackson can tell you every detail from every book we've read.

Jackson in his seat before the show - he made his crown in the craft room that was at the auditorium!

Boys!

I don't care who you are, farting is funny!!!! Sorry - it's a little dark, but the sound is what's most important! The boys are watching this on YouTube (one of favorite sites).

Valentine's Day

It came and went. Valentine's Day, that is. This is how we celebrated it: Jeremy brough Jude for a visit to my work last week - Jude decked out in his "I love Amy" tee shirt. Jackson had his party in school on Friday - lots of cutsie cards and treats from classmates. Jeremy and I snuck out for a date on Saturday afternoon for a few hours - TGIFs for lunch and a quick walk through the mall. Jackson and I went on a little date yesterday to State College - more about that in the Magic Treehouse Post. So glad to have my 3 special Valentine's to share this day with! Love you, J, J, and J!

I made the boys heart pancakes on Saturday morning!

100 Days

Today was Jackson's 100th day of school. He almost didn't make it - not feeling well, but went in by lunch time. The students all had tee-shirts with some form of "100 days" theme. Jackson took in a bag of 100 marbles and made a necklace with 100 fruit loops - but he said Mrs. Phister said he shouldn't eat the necklace because the fruit loops were, "a year and a half old."
