Tools of the Trade

In OT, we talk about how a child's occupation is play and that the tools they use to be able to play include their hands. I think this photo totally captures the essence of childhood. Thanks Jerm for the great photo.

In Your Eyes

Sometimes you just have to wonder what he's (Jude) thinking? Maybe about how beautiful the sky is or how lucky he is to be on this earth or maybe just, "where's my juice?" Anyway, I think it's beautiful - thanks Jeremy for taking such a gorgeous photo.

Winter Fun

It's almost 40 degrees outside - finally warm enough to go out and enjoy the (melting) snow. Jackson and Zach took advantage of the slippery lane.

#7 - I'm Votin' for Him

We just got done eating lunch. The conversation went something like this:

Jeremy: Did you see all the people coming out of Giant Eagle in their Steeler's gear?
Amy: Yeah - even all the employees were decked out in it too.
(Amy and Jeremy look at each other and then at Jackson realizing the major lack of black and gold gear present and have a little laugh).
Amy: At least Jackson is wearing a shirt with a #7 on it - like Roethlisberger.
Jackson: Zach has a Steelers shirt with a #7 on it.
Amy: Yeah - that's Roethlisberger's jersey number.
Jackson: Yeah, I guess Zach's voting for him too!

Just a little insight into our family - it's not that we don't like the Steelers, we just aren't huge sports fans. We're getting there, though. Jackson said today he's starting to get into the Steelers.

We promise to get better!

Go Steelers!

Kindergarten Visitation

Jackson's Kindergarten class had 17 visitors today - next year's K class. I volunteered to help out for the day. Wow! am I tired. It was a really busy day - hope all the visitors had a good time. One special visitor was Zach!

Watching TV

It was a snow day for Jackson yesterday - he took advantage of relaxing and watching TV with brother!

Drum

On Monday evening, the World Drumming Ensemble of SFU held a drum concert @ St. Mike's as a fundraiser for the music program. It was a blast (although it felt a little unbalanced since Jeremy was home with a sick Jude) - the turn out was great and everyone had such a wonderful time.

Our good friends Erik and Jo (back row) play in the ensemble!

Jackson with some of his classmates!

Jim Donovan, drumming ensemble director, Drummer, former member of Rusted Root, SFU Instructor, and friend totally rocked the crowd! (I have a link to his blog on the side -check it out!)
